The Public Works Department will be removing and repairing a section of the Blanco Street 12-inch water main between the 2 Museum buildings on the west side of Main. This water main is fed from the Blanco water tank just east of the city proper.
 
The water main repair will be exhaustive and most likely take most of the day on Friday, June 23. We have prepared for the project by exercising water valves in advance and we are hopeful the project will go smoothly. We have hired a contractor to work with us on the project.   
 
The PW Dept asks for your indulgence during this important water main repair. Affected customers may want to take remedial measures in advance. These precautionary plans could include stocking up on drinking water and storage of water in containers to use to flush your toilet.
 
Affected Areas: West of Main, South of Hwy 516, East of Animas River, North of Chuska.  City Hall, SJCO Museum, Senior Center, Hi Country Chevrolet, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Blake’s
 
The Public Works Department will be working overtime before June 23 to install remedial measures to isolate the work area more so that the affected area is reduced. We will know more on Thursday, June 24^th.
