Flash Flood Watch until 07:00PM Thursday

...Very Heavy Rain Expected for the Middle of the Week... .A very moisture rich environment will be transported north in response to Potential Tropical Cyclone Three moving into the southern and central Gulf. Multiple features will come together possibly as early as overnight tonight or tomorrow leading to the first in what will likely be multiple rounds of heavy rain. The risk of heavy rain may not relax until Friday once the system finally lifts away from the region. At this time we are expecting widespread 4 to 8 inches with isolated areas greater than 10 inches possible. * Flash Flood Watch FOR portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the following areas, in southeast Louisiana, Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Lower Jefferson, Lower Lafourche, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower Terrebonne, Northern Tangipahoa, Orleans, Pointe Coupee, Southern Tangipahoa, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The Baptist, St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana. In Mississippi, Amite, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Walthall, and Wilkinson.

* Multiple rounds of heavy rain to impact the region possibly as early overnight tonight as Potential Tropical Cyclone Three moves through the central Gulf.

* Widespread rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches with isolated areas of greater than 10 inches will be possible through Thursday. In addition to the flash flooding potential we can expect to see rises on area rivers as well however, river crests will depend greatly on where the heaviest rain falls.
