Details: On Thursday, April 20, 2017, Corcoran officers initiated a vehicle pursuit with a car that was stolen from Hanford. During the pursuit the vehicle swerved and struck another vehicle. Officers recognized the driver as Angel Garcia. Garcia subsequently ran from the vehicle and left a loaded sawed off shotgun on the floorboard. Officers attempted to locate Garcia with negative results. On Friday, May 5, 2017, Corcoran officers conducted a shooting investigation in the 1300 block of North Avenue. Neighbors reported seeing a vehicle being chased and shot at by another vehicle. Two victims were identified and interviewed. Both subjects told officers Angel Garcia was the suspect who shot at them from another vehicle. Officers were also told the shooting was gang related. Bullets were recovered from the victim's vehicle. No one was injured in the shooting. On Sunday, June 18, 2017, at 4:30 AM, Corcoran officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Six and a Half Avenue for a suspicious person knocking on doors. Upon arrival, a male subject began running and jumped over a wall. The subject was apprehended and identified as Angel Garcia. Garcia was arrested and booked into the Corcoran City Jail for the charges of attempted murder, vehicle theft, failure to yield, felon in possession of a firearm and resisting arrest. He was also found to be on active CDC Parole. A parole warrant had been issued for his arrest. Garcia was transported and booked into the Kings County Jail. He is being held on a no-bail parole warrant.
