Friday, June 16, 2017
Incidents:  367  Reports:  34

#005:  Chain snatch robbery:
At 12:56 pm, an adult female reported she had been robbed of a chain she was wearing around her neck, while in the area of Fremont Bl. and Enea Common. 
Suspect:  Black male; 17-20 years of age; thin build; wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.
Suspect vehicle:  older green, possibly a Toyota 4 door.

#016:  Battery and resisting arrest:
At about 1:57 pm, officers responded to a male, punching a female in the head numerous times, in the area of Walnut Av and Fremont Bl.  A sergeant in the area located the male.  The male refused to comply with the sergeant’s directions to stop, and refused to follow other commands.  The male also took a fighting stance towards the sergeant.  The sergeant used his Taser to stop the male.  The Taser was effective and the adult male was taken into custody.  The male received medical attention and was later booked at the Santa Rita Jail for battery and resisting arrest.  The adult victim had no idea who the male was or why he attacked her. 

027:  Armed robbery of pharmacy
At about 5:49 pm, officers responded to an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the 600 block of Mowry Ave.  Two males fled in a vehicle, possibly a 4 door black Honda or Toyota, prior to arrival.  The two males who committed the robbery were described as young Hispanic males, 17-18 years old, dark clothing. 

#030:  DUI arrest
At 7:43 pm, officers responded to the 3800 block of Decoto Rd for a report of a subject down.  Upon arrival, they discovered a 46 year old male asleep in his car, which was parked in the middle of the street.  The subsequent investigation determined the male was drunk as well.  The male, a Union City resident, was arrested for DUI.

#017:  Residential Burglary:
At 5:38 pm, officers responded to a residence in the 1500 Birch Terrace for a report of a male breaking into a residence.  Officers responded and conducted a search for the male, but the male was not located.  The male was described as Hispanic in his mid-thirties; shaved head; wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

#001:  Fake currency
Close to midnight, an officer stopped a car for an equipment violation.  The driver, a 34 year old male, was on searchable probation.  A subsequent search of the male and his car resulted in fake currency being located.  The male, a Hayward resident, was arrested for possession of the fake currency. 

#002:  Street racing
At about 12:10 am, officers were monitoring the 48000 block of Fremont Bl for street racing.  They spotted two cars racing in the 48000 block of Fremont Bl.  Both of the cars were stopped and both drivers admitted to racing.  The drivers, a 20 year old and a 26 year old male, both Fremont residents were arrested for the street racing and their respective cars were towed.

#003:  DUI
At about 1:04 am, a sergeant saw a car go through a stop sign at about 60 mph at Chapel Way and Irvington Bl.  The car was stopped and a subsequent investigation led to the driver, a 26 year old male from Newark, being arrested for DUI.  His passenger, a 23 year old male, was too drunk to care for himself, so he was arrested for being too intoxicated to care for himself. 

#009:  Illegal drugs arrest
At about 8:47 am, an officer was on Ford Ln, when the officer saw an adult male he knew to be on probation.  The officer contacted the male.  A subsequent probation search led to the officer locating suspected methamphetamines on the male.  The officer arrested the male, a 46 year old Fremont resident, for the illegal drugs.

#014:  Robbery
At about 11:15 am, officers responded to a late-reported robbery.  The robbery occurred at about 5:30 am on Civic Center Dr and Walnut Av.  The victim reported he was attacked by an unknown number of males in their late teens/early twenties.  The loss was cash. 

#024:  Attempted Car Jacking
At 5:35 pm, officers responded to an attempted carjacking at a gas station in the 2900 block of Auto Mall Parkway.  The victim was getting gas when a male, armed with a knife, tried to take the victim’s car.  The victim yelled at the male, and the male fled into a 2 door black BMW.  The male who tried to take the car was described as Hispanic, in his forties, with a light colored shirt and jeans.
