Shooting incident
At approximately 130a.m. on June 18, 2017, the Sun Prairie Police were sent to the 400 block of South Bird St. for a report of an individual being shot in the apartment complex parking lot.
Upon officer arrival, a 33-year-old male subject was located with fatal injuries.
Based on preliminary information, the Sun Prairie Police do not believe that this was a random act.
This is an active and ongoing homicide investigation and the Sun Prairie Police is assisted by Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Crime Lab.

Investigators have identified several individuals who were present at the time of the incident, including a specific person of interest.
Evidence collection and interviews are continuing. This is an active and ongoing homicide investigation
Based on the ongoing investigation, we do not believe this is a random act.
We have concluded the crime scene processing and the scene has been released.
