Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to assist Montebello Police Department with an Officer-Involved Shooting investigation of a Montebello Police Officer. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at approximately 4:00 p.m., in 7700 block of Telegraph Road, Montebello.
 
Detectives have learned that a couple was using the pool at the “Quality Inn” Motel but were not patrons of the motel.  The male Hispanic adult, 28, and the female Hispanic adult, 28, had been drinking heavily during the day. A verbal argument escalated to the point where the woman went inside the motel lobby and told the front desk clerk that her boyfriend had taken her purse. Montebello Police Department was notified and responded to the location.
 
The woman returned to the boyfriend and begins assaulting him. A Montebello officer arrives on the scene as the woman gets into her car and drives off.  As the suspect drives away, she makes a U-turn, and drives towards the officer and the boyfriend with her car at which time an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.
 
The woman was struck several times in the upper body. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are en route to the 7700 block of Telegraph Road, Montebello, to assist Montebello Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding an Officer Involved Shooting where the suspect was struck by gunfire.
 
The suspect was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
 
There is no additional information available and the investigation is on-going.
