A traffic collision results in the death of a 25-year-old New Jersey man

LOCATION: Palmdale Road and Jonathan Street in Adelanto
Party #1: Muataz Abdelatif, 25-year-old male from New Jersey
Party #2: 60-year-old male from Hesperia
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, June 15, 2017, at approximately 9:06 a.m., Adelanto Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a traffic collision involving two motor vehicles near the intersection of Palmdale Road and Jonathan Street in Adelanto.
Investigators determined that Party #2 was traveling west on Palmdale Road, east of the intersection with Jonathan Street. Party #1 was traveling east on Palmdale Road, west of the intersection with Jonathan Street. For unknown reasons, vehicle #1 crossed over the center line, traveling east in the westbound lane of traffic on Palmdale Road. Vehicle #1 struck vehicle #2 in an offset head-on collision.
Party #2 was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was treated for moderate injuries. Party #1 was transported to Victor Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
