Attempt Murder of 82 Year Old Grandfather: NEED PUBLIC'S HELP

DATE/TIME:  Friday, June 9, 2017/ 2:00 PM

LOCATION:  2900 Block of Gayridge St., Pomona CA.

CRIME: 664/187 PC- Attempt Homicide

VICTIM:  Robert McPherson, 82 year old, Pomona Resident

SUSPECT:  Sammeon Christian Waller, 25 years old, Frequents Pomona Area

SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2003 Silver Honda Odyssey (Victims vehicle and has been IMPOUNDED)

NARRATIVE:  On Friday, June 9, 2017 at approximately 2:00 PM, Pomona Police Department received a radio call of a “welfare check” at the 2900 Block of Gayridge St. of an elderly man who had not been seen or heard from in several days.  Officers arrived on scene and found the rear window of the residence smashed in and moaning sounds coming from inside the residence.  Officers made entry into the residence where they found the victim laying on the ground bleeding and suffering from major head trauma.  Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. 

Pomona Police Department’s Homicide Unit was called into investigate.  Their investigation revealed that the victim had an active “Restraining Order” against his grandson who is the suspect in this crime.  The investigation also revealed that the victim’s vehicle was taken from the residence and was impounded early Friday morning after being found unoccupied in the City of Sacramento, California.  The suspect was last seen in the area of 3rd St and J St in Downtown Sacramento.  The suspect has no known means of transportation and has no known ties to the Sacramento area therefore he may be using public transportation.
