Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives arrest three in conspiracy to smuggle drugs into jail.

On Saturday, June 10, 2017 Sonoma County Sheriff’s Offices Narcotics detectives with the assistance of North County Detention staff arrested three subjects engaged in smuggling methamphetamine into the jail.

Sonoma County Narcotic detectives developed information that a female was frequently bringing drugs into the jail facility while visiting inmates. On June 10, 2017, Detectives established surveillance on Melissa Church (35 yr old) Windsor resident and followed her to the North County Detention Facility. Church signed in as visitor and while being kept under constant surveillance she was observed transferring an object to inmate Spencer Peters (22 yrs) who is in custody for various misdemeanor violations.

Church and Peters were detained by Correctional staff. A small package of methamphetamine was recovered from Peters.

Based on the investigation, a third subject, Inmate Jesse Green (41 yrs) of San Francisco was identified as a co-conspirator who was involved in the scheme by releasing funds to Church for payment of the drugs.

Drugs within the jail facility have greater value than on the street and are sold to other inmates for commissary goods.

Church, Peters and Green were arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale, transporting and furnishing methamphetamine, bringing a controlled substance into a correctional facility and conspiracy.

Church was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and violation of probation.
