INCIDENT: Unlawfully Causing a Fire
LOCATION: 12400 block of Camino Canada Way, Victorville
SUSPECT: Justin Dunford, 27- year old Victorville resident
VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY: On June 9, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department received a request for assistance from San Bernardino County Fire. Deputies responded to a home, in the 12400 block of Camino Canada Way, in which the second floor was engulfed in flames.

The homeowners reported hearing a loud noise in the house. Seconds later their son, Justin Dunford, entered their bedroom engulfed in flames. The three managed to escape the second floor of the residence and exit the house. The homeowners did not suffer any injuries from the fire. Dunford suffered severe burns to over half of his body. He received initial treatment at the scene by AMR personnel before being flown to a trauma center for further treatment of his injuries. Dunford's condition is unknown at this time.

Investigators with San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s, Bomb/Arson Division, responded to the scene to assist County Fire with determining the exact cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
