Correctional Peace Officers Memorial - June 16, 2017 - Coyote Point, San Mateo 
Twelve Correctional Staff members were killed in the line of duty in 2016. Annually, the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation hosts a national memorial ceremony in different cities. This year, their event will be held at Coyote Point, San Mateo on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10am. San Mateo Deputy Police Chief Jack Ratcliffe will be speaking. Guests will include honored families of the fallen officers and dignitaries.
The purpose of the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is to operate and maintain a general fund for the perpetuation of the memory of those Correctional Peace Officers killed in the line of duty; to provide for the spouses, children or other beneficiaries; and to promote and project a positive image of the Corrections profession, both internally and to the general public. The San Mateo Police Department works closely with the Correction Officers and Deputies at the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and are honored to support a cause that recognizes their sacrifieces.
