Celebrate National Night Out on August 1,2017

It’s America’s Night Out Against Crime!

The “34th Annual National Night Out” is set for Tuesday, August 1, 2017. The night is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and serious about combating crime.

Last year’s National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from more than 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, more than 38.5 million people are expected to participate in ‘America’s National Night Out Against Crime’. This is a great reason to host a block party and invite your neighbors.

Join us this year by organizing and registering your block party. Block parties can be small or large, with BBQ’s, ice cream or any other ideas, where neighbors share good food, laughter and remind neighbors on how to keep the neighborhood safe. Register your National Night Out ‘party’ by July 27th to be considered for a visit by the Police, Fire Department or other City Staff and Volunteers. We will do our best to visit all 1st time registered parties or groups who have never had a visit from Police or Fire.

Registration will be open from June 9, 2017 through July 27, 2016. Go to www.fremontpolice.org/NNO and click on “NNO Registration”. You will receive a “Thank You” response to your registration. You can visit NATW.org for more information, promotional ideas and tips on how to organize your party.
