Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are assisting Alhambra Police Department with a shooting death investigation. The incident occurred Friday, June 2, 2017, at approximately 10:57 p.m., on the 2700 Block of Valley Boulevard, Alhambra.

Detectives have learned Alhambra PD responded to the location for a person down call. Upon arrival they discovered that the victim was working as a clerk behind the counter of the local business, when a male suspect attempted to rob her at gunpoint. During the commission of the robbery, the suspect shot the victim in the torso at least one time.

The victim, a female Asian 45 years-old,  was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male suspect fled the location in an unknown direction. It is unknown at this time if there was any property taken.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 2700 Block of Valley Boulevard, Alhambra, to assist Alhambra Police Department investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a female Asian adult. 
 
The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
