This is an important message from the City of Commerce

City has a City Council election on Tuesday, June 6.  City residents have complained that they are receiving misleading robocalls from one or more candidates about the processing of their vote by mail ballots.

Please be advised that Election Code Section 3017 gives voters the right to release their vote by mail ballots to a person that they choose to return the ballot to the City's Election Official -- the City Clerk.

Statements in calls that claim that this is illegal, are wrong and misleading. If you have any questions, please call the City Clerk’s Office at 323-722-4805, extension 2252.
