On June 1, 2017, The Menlo Park Police arrested a suspect on 6 counts of sexual assault involving both juveniles and adults.

On June 1, 2017, The Menlo Park Police Investigations Unit arrested a suspect on 6 counts of sexual assault involving both juveniles and adults. Detectives were alerted to this case after several victims came forward and disclosed inappropriate acts committed by the suspect. The suspect is a Pastor at the El Senor Justicia Nuestra Church located on the 1300 block of Chilco Street in the City of Menlo Park. This congregation leases space in this existing church.

Investigators were able to locate the suspect and interview him at the Menlo Park Police Department. At the conclusion of the interview, the suspect was arrested on numerous charges, including:

289(1) PC - Sexual Penetration w/ foreign object of a juvenile under 16
289(H) PC- Sexual Penetration w/ foreign object of a juvenile
289(J) PC - Sexual Penetration w/ foreign object of an adult
288(a) PC- Lewd act w/child under 14
288(c)(1) PC- Lewd act w/ child under 15
288.4(b) PC- Meet with minor (under 18) with intent to commit lewd act

The suspect is identified as Victor Elizandro Tax-Gomez, a 47 year old Hispanic male who resides in the City of East Palo Alto. Tax-Gomez was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the above listed charges.
