To better serve the residents of Ingham County, all jurisdictions in the county have joined together to use one platform for community messaging. It’s called the Capital Area Ingham County Alert System. Functionally it will combine both the emergency notifications previously sent through CodeRED, as well as the community news features (traffic accidents, event updates, etc.) from Nixle.
In addition, it lets you the user control how you want to be notified whether by phone, email, or even fax machine!
