Full Notification

Compton station deputies were involved in a shooting last night.  
Deputies stopped a car for traffic violations at Santa Fe and Rosecrans just before midnight.  A male passenger in the back seat opened fire on one of the deputies and then on the other.  Both deputies returned fire. 
 
One deputy was struck in the chest and arm.  The suspect later died of his wounds at the hospital.  The both deputies are fine. 
 
The suspect is a suspected gang member.
