INCIDENT: 1st Annual Phelan Sheriff’s Station Open House
SUMMARY:
The Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station held the 1st annual open house at the Phelan Sub-Station, 4050 Phelan Road, in Phelan.
The event was attended by over 100 citizens from Phelan and surrounding communities. Information was handed out on various safety issues, to include Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) safety and horse and rider safety. Attendees learned about legal OHV riding areas, legal shooting areas, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Departments ride-a-long program and how to become a volunteer with the department.
The Wrightwood/ Phelan Search and Rescue Unit had an amazing display and the Phelan Posse attended the event on horseback. Children could sit in a police car, have their faces painted, play games at the “Children’s Academy” and bounce in the bounce house, donated by Anytime Fun Rentals in Phelan. And of course, the free Bar-B-Que was a hit.
