The detectives requested assistance from deputies in making contact with the suspects.
Los Angeles Detectives and Deputies from the Victorville Police Department, and Hesperia Police Department began an area search for the subject vehicle, a gray, 2005 Range Rover. At 5:07 a.m., dispatch received notification of an alarm at a business located in the 12600 block of Hesperia Road. Deputies pursued the vehicle to the area of Hesperia Road and Forrest Avenue, where the deputies were involved in a single vehicle collision and their patrol vehicle overturned. The two deputies were transported to a local hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
The pursuit was terminated, and deputies continued to assist Los Angeles Detectives to search for the subjects. At 5:16 a.m., residents in the area of Inyo Street reported seeing a black male adult jump out of a vehicle and begin running down the street. Deandre Smith was located in the 16200 block of Tejon Street and Eddie Smith was located in the alley behind the 16400 block of Yucca Street. Both men were taken into custody without incident.
