The suspect from the shoplifting at 2196 Emporium has been apprehended in Crockett County.

The Jackson police department continues to investigate a shoplifting from 2196 Emporium Dr. that lead to a shot being fired by an officer of the Jackson police department.  The suspect in the shoplifting has been apprehended in Crockett County. 

On May 23 at approximately 12:10 PM, officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifting. During the course of the investigation, officers made contact with the suspect and the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of Cheddars. As the officer attempted to make contact with the suspect, a shot was fired by the officer of the Jackson police department.

The white male suspect wearing a white tank top and having a ball head fled the scene in a gray Pontiac G6. Currently the investigation has revealed no one was injured or any property was damaged. 

 The investigation is ongoing. The officer involved in this incident will be put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. 

Again, the suspect involved in the shoplifting has been apprehended and is in custody.
