#026 Vehicle Theft, Possessing the ID’s of more than 10 Persons, Obstructing/Resisting, etc.
At 3:13 p.m., Officer Troy Roberts spotted a car matching the description of a reported stolen 2013 Nissan Murano from a special information bulleting in the area of Fremont Blvd. near Peralta Blvd.  As Officer Roberts confirmed the license plate of the vehicle was that of the reported stolen vehicle, the driver quickly turned into a parking lot between Belovaria Court and Palm Court.  Officer Roberts activated his overhead lights and attempted a traffic stop as the vehicle parked in a stall.  The driver and sole occupant quickly exited the vehicle, slowly backed away and then ran eastbound between two buildings.  Numerous officers responded to the area and a quick perimeter was established. K9 Officer Bob Smith arrived at the stolen car with intentions to start a track with his trailing bloodhound, when witnesses alerted officers that the suspect was hiding under a deck in the backyard of a house on the 37400 block of Parish Ave.  After numerous announcements failed, pepper balls were introduced under the deck where the suspect was believed to be hiding.   The suspect was heard coughing and after more announcements he emerged.  He was apprehended without further incident. 
The suspect was identified as a 21 year old adult male.  During a search of the vehicle, multiple items belonging to other people were located including: power tools, 4 tires, car stereo, speaker, amplifier, miscellaneous documents containing personal information, mailbox keys, shaved keys, garage door openers, bag containing mail from different residence in Fremont, 2 methamphetamine pipes and 2 license plates.  The vehicle had been stolen in San Ramon on 05/02/17. Officers contacted 12 victims identified from the property located inside of the vehicle.  The suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle theft, possessing the ID’s of more than 10 persons, receiving known stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing/resisting police and possession of burglary tools. Officer T. Roberts will continue the investigation.   

#034 Residential Burglary
At 4:40 p.m. officers responded to a residence on the 5200 block of Keystone Drive to investigate a residential burglary.  The residence was broken into sometime during the day and ransacked. The point of entry was possibly through the front door, utilizing a spare hide-a-key.  Electronics, cash and jewelry were taken.  The burglary was investigated by Officer Davis.

#006 Mental Health Hold
CSO Romero was flagged down at the Grimmer Blvd/ Bay St. McDonalds restaurant by an agitated male claiming he wanted to report a crime.  Officer O’Neal responded to assist and the male was placed on a mental health hold for an evaluation. 

#008 Evading a Police Officer in Fremont; Hit and Run, DUI and Warrant(s) Arrest in Newark
At approximately 9:50 a.m., Officer Taylor was flagged down at the intersection of Mowry Ave, and Blacow Rd.  A female was banging on the window of a 2017 Chevy Silverado truck, while trying to get the attention of the driver who was stopped in the middle of the intersection.  Fearing the male driver was having a medical issue Officer Taylor positioned his patrol vehicle at the front of the truck to prevent the driver from rolling forward.  The male driver (later ID’d as a 32 year old adult male from Southern California) maneuvered his way out, and drove north on Blacow Rd.  Officer Taylor attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver began to travel north in the southbound lanes of Blacow Rd while accelerating to a high rate of speed.  Officer Taylor did not pursue and saw the vehicle turn west bound on Central Ave.  Dispatch later advised that the truck had just been involved in a hit and run collision at the intersection of Central Ave and Cherry St in Newark.  The suspect broadsided a southbound traveling vehicle at the intersection and fled on foot south bound Cherry St.  The suspect was apprehended by Newark officers and was arrested for hit and run, DUI and Warrants.  Officer Taylor responded to the collision scene in Newark and positively identified the male for the evading a police officer complaint with the DA .

#011 Possession of a Switchblade Knife
Officers respond to the area of Michelle St. and Deodara St. after a suspicious vehicle was seen in the area.  Officer Kerner arrests via cite release, a 22 year old adult male for possession of a switchblade knife discovered in the center console of his vehicle.

#022 Outside Assist
Officers responded to assist Fremont Fire with a grass fire at the end of Stevenson Blvd, west of the rail road tracks.  FFD used several fire trucks to put out a large grass fire.  Case documented by Officer Floresca.

#031 Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Robbery, Obstructing/Resisting Arrest 
Officer Kennedy and Officer Floresca see four males that match the description of suspects wanted in connection of a cell phone robbery they documented on 5/13/17 at the corner of Stevenson Blvd and Leslie.  When Officer Kennedy and Officer Floresca stop to talk to the group, one of the males, later identified as an 18 year old adult male (Fremont resident), takes off running northbound on Leslie.  Officer Floresca and Officer Kennedy catch the suspect who attempted to dump a stolen handgun he had in his possession.  The 18 year old was arrested for robbery, obstructing/resisting, carrying a concealed weapon on his person, and carrying a loaded firearm while committing a felony.  The three other males were released from the scene. 

#028 Possession of Narcotics, Obstructing/Resisting, Possession of Burglary Tools, Shoplifting, & Parole Violation
Officer Latimer is flagged down by community members in the area of Fremont Blvd at the entrance of the Fremont Hub (Elephant Bar).  As Officer Latimer stops to see what’s going on, a male, later identified as a 41 year old adult male, takes off running eastbound towards the Wheel Works on Beacon St.  Officer Latimer catches the male in the parking lot.  The male admits to having heroin and that’s why he took off running.   Shortly after taking the male into custody, he is identified as a suspect in a shoplifting incident at CVS (Hub).  He is arrested by officers for possession of narcotics, obstructing/resisting, possession of burglary tools, shoplifting and for a parole violation.

#035 DUI Arrest
At 9:55 p.m., Officers Dubowy and Wong were working DUI saturation patrol when they stopped a 35 year old adult male, San Jose resident, near Grimmer Blvd and Osgood Rd.  He was arrested for… DUI.

#039 Battery
At 10:59 p.m., officers responded to the 40000 block for an assault with a deadly weapon call.  The reporting party stated a male was assaulting and threatening people in the parking lot with a broken bottle.  Officers arrived and found one victim with visible injuries and the suspect who also had visible injuries.  The victim did not request medical care.  The suspect was arrested for battery by Officer Rose.

#001/002 Battery Arrests
At 1:47 a.m., officers responded to Saddle Rack regarding a fight and vandalism in the parking lot.  Several males were in a fight regarding one vandalizing another’s vehicle.  Security intervened and deployed pepper spray to stop the fighting.  The victim, a 29 year old adult male, received a laceration when he fell to the ground and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. In addition, a security guard was also battered as he tried to stop the physical fight.  A 31 year old adult male, Livermore resident and a 27 year old adult male, San Jose resident were both arrested for battery.  Investigated by Officer Contrada.

#007 Hit and Run, DUI and Driving without a License Arrest
A driver was sideswiped on Thornton Ave near I880.   The suspect driver continued without stopping, while the victim driver followed. CHP was notified that they had entered the freeway and detained the suspect off of Tennyson in Hayward. Officer Chinn responded to investigate and arrested a 42 year old adult male for hit and run, driving under the influence, and driving without a license.

#012 Battery on a Custodial Officer
At 7:10 a.m., a 29 year old adult male, prisoner at the Fremont jail was being uncooperative with detention staff. Patrol officers responded for a cell extraction. During the incident, the male continued to use explicit language towards the detention officer and spat on the officer twice.  Additional patrol units responded and the male was placed in body wrap and transported to Santa Rita Jail.  Officer Dennis added a charge of battery on a custodial officer.

#024 Hit and Run Property Damage Report
A reporting party called 911 when a vehicle collided into a business on the 40500 block of Fremont Blvd.  The driver left the scene prior to police arrival.  The case is being investigated by Traffic Officer A. Piol.

#031 Indecent Exposure Arrest
At 6:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to an indecent exposure incident.  The caller advised a female in the area of Bart Way/Civic Center had her pants down and was exposing her genitalia.   Officer Latimer contacted a female matching the description of the suspect nearby and arrested the 56 year old adult female, Fremont resident, after the victim positively ID’d her.
