(Jenny Lind, CA) On 05/15/2017 at approximately 10:00 AM, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies with the assistance of Calaveras County Code Enforcement served a search warrant on a property located in the 9900 block of Shalimar Drive in Jenny Lind.
The search warrant was a result of numerous citizen complaints of illegal grading and fencing filed with the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and Code Enforcement. On further investigation it was discovered the location was an unregistered and illegal marijuana grow.
During the search warrant no persons were contacted at the property; 1,451 marijuana plants were seized. While on the property Deputies located a waterline leading to a neighboring property. It is suspected at this time that the growers were stealing water from the neighboring property. The investigation into the identities of the persons involved is ongoing.
