The 10K Road Race scheduled for Sunday will impact travel on roads In the Town of New Castle from 8 a.m. Plan ahead and drive with care. 
At 8 a.m tomorrow, Sunday, May 21, 2017, The New Castle Recreation and Parks 10K Road Race will take place. The race will cause some road closures and partial lane restrictions. Motorists are asked to avoid the route of the race between 8a.m. and 10 a.m. Those motorists who must drive on the route should exercise caution as they will be sharing the road with runners and will likely encounter traffic delays and road closures.
The following roads will be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC:
- Quaker Road (NYS RT 120) Southbound from Roaring Brook Road to South Greeley 8:05 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Quaker Road (NYS RT 120) Northbound between Seven Bridges Road and Hardscrabble 8:05 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- South Greeley Avenue 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The 10K Race route is as follows and will have intermittent temporary closures and lane restrictions:
Start on South Greeley in front of Bell School at 8:10 a.m.
North on South Greeley Avenue to Quaker Road (NYS RT 120).
Turn off Quaker Road (NYS RT 120) onto Douglas Road.
Turn right from Douglas Road onto Hardscrabble Road.
Turn Right From Hardscrabble Road onto Quaker Road (NYS RT 120)
South on Quaker Road (NYS RT 120) to a left turn onto Roaring Brook Road
Roaring Brook Road to Cross Ridge Road
Cross Ridge Road to Chappaqua Mountain Road
Chappaqua Mountain Road to Quaker Road (NYS RT 120)
Quaker Road (NYS RT 120) to South Greeley Avenue
South Greeley Avenue to New Castle Town Hall.
