...RAIN ON TUESDAY WILL RAISE CONCERNS FOR ROCK AND
MUD SLIDES...

.An unusually deep low pressure system will bring a swath of
significant rainfall to the Idaho Panhandle as well as northeast
and north central Washington on Tuesday. Rain amounts between a
half inch and an inch will once again raise concerns for rock and
mud slides for areas with steep terrain.

Bonner-Boundary-Ferry-Okanogan-Pend Oreille-Stevens-
Including the cities of Sandpoint, Priest River, Blanchard,
Careywood, Bonners Ferry, Moyie Springs, Porthill, Eastport,
Naples, Republic, Inchelium, Keller, Curlew, Danville, Laurier,
Omak, Okanogan, Brewster, Oroville, Mazama, Winthrop, Methow,
Twisp, Conconully, Newport, Metaline Falls, Ione, Cusick,
Diamond Lake, Colville, Chewelah, Kettle Falls, Springdale,
and Northport

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM PDT TUESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY
EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of North Idaho and Washington,
including the following counties, in North Idaho, Bonner and
Boundary. In Washington, Ferry, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, and
Stevens.

* From 2 AM PDT Tuesday through Tuesday evening

* Steep slopes have been susceptible to rock and mud slides this
spring in far north Idaho, northeast Washington, and north
central Washington. Widespread rain amounts of a half inch to an
inch on Tuesday will once again raise concerns for mud and rock
slides.

* Creeks and small streams will also experience rises Tuesday and
Tuesday night in response to runoff from rain. Fortunately,
temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday will be cool which is good
news. There will be little contribution from mountain snow melt
during the rain event Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for rock slides and rises
on creeks and streams based on current forecasts. You should
monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Idaho...
North Central Washington and Northeast Washington.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Rain and mountain snow will spread into the Cascades and north
central Washington tonight. Slick or slushy roads will be
possible late tonight and early Tuesday morning over Sherman Pass
in north central Washington as well as Steven Pass, Blewett Pass,
and Washington Pass in the Cascades.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Persistent rain on Tuesday will raise concerns for rock and
mudslides in the steep terrain of Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens, Pend
Oreille, Bonner, and Boundary counties. Rises on small streams may
also be an issue by Tuesday afternoon and evening.
