Details: On Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 3:00 AM, CPD officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 6 ½ Avenue regarding an assault. Officers spoke with the male victim who had visible cuts to both his arms from an altercation. The victim reported he was assaulted by an unknown male subject as he walking home from work. The victim reported the subject attacked him with a knife and he retrieved his own knife in self-defense. The victim was unable to provide further details other than the male subject who attacked him fell down during the assault and ran off. The victim later received medical treatment for his cuts at a local hospital. At 9:30 AM (5/14/17), medical staff from Hanford AMC advised a male subject was in the emergency room with a stab wound to his back. The subject advised staff that he was assaulted in Corcoran sometime the prior night. The male subject at the hospital was also contacted by officers and was uncooperative about any details of the incident. Both stabbing reports are believed to be related and follow up investigation is pending by officers.
