A Victorville man is arrested for causing seriously bodily injury to his elderly mother

DATE/TIME: April 29, 2017 / 6:43 p.m.

INCIDENT: Robbery, False Imprisonment, Battery with Serious Bodily Injury, Harm to an Elder

LOCATION: 16200 block of La Cubre Drive

SUSPECT: Henry Alexander Paz (Conde), 44-year old Victorville resident

VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY:
On April 29, 2017, Deputy F. Demara, from the Victorville Police Department, responded to a call of elder abuse in the 16200 block of La Cubre Drive.

The suspect, Henry Alexander Paz, was reportedly upset that the victim, his 75 year old mother, did not want him to have a female visitor at her home where he was staying. Paz pushed the victim to the floor, breaking her hip and fracturing her leg. He then demanded money from her and took her cell phone. Before leaving the residence, Paz closed the victim in her bedroom and closed all other doors inside the home and refused to call for medical assistance.

The victim was able to pull herself out of her bedroom and to the front door of her home. An unknown passerby heard the victim calling out for help and called 911. Medical personnel arrived and transported her to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputy Demara authored a search warrant for the suspect’s arrest. On May 14, 2017, Deputy Demara located the suspect at a residence in the 11800 block of Nehmans Way, in the city of Adelanto. He was arrested without incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center for robbery, false imprisonment, battery with serious injury, and harm to an elder. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on May 16, 2017.
