(Harris County, TX) Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators have charged 20-year-old Angel Lagos-Martinez for the murder of a 29-year-old father of two.

Lagos-Martinez was arrested, after evidence and witnesses tied him to the scene.

On Saturday, January 14, 2017, at approximately 3:52 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a male shot in the head at 717 Richcrest Drive.

Deputies learned that Mr. Leonidas Ayesta-Carias was with his wife and two sons, ages 7 and 10 years old in their vehicle at the 700 block of Richcrest Drive.

Mr. Leonidas Ayesta-Carias drove into the parking lot at 717 Richcrest Drive when, a Hispanic male now identified as Lagos-Martinez ran up to the vehicle and fired one shot from a handgun, striking Mr. Leonidas Ayesta-Carias in the head.

He then fled the scene on foot. Mr. Leonidas Ayesta-Carias was transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Lagos-Martinez is currently being held in the Harris County Sheriff's Office Detention facility with no bond.
