Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult that occurred on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 7:55 p.m.
Detectives have learned that the victim, a 30 year-old Hispanic male, was attending a family gathering at a residence in the 10300 block of Loch Avon Drive in the unincorporated area of Whittier. The victim was standing in the front driveway of the residence when he was shot in the upper torso by an unknown assailant.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Although witnesses reported hearing two gunshots, there is no suspect description at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
