Traffic Investigators responded at approximately 3:30 am to the area of Fremont Blvd and Darwin Dr. to investigate a traffic collision involving two vehicles. A passenger in one of the vehicles sadly passed away at the scene. Other involved parties have been transported to area hospitals.
All northbound lanes of Fremont Blvd between Paseo Padre Pkwy and Ferry Ln are closed. One southbound lane of Fremont Blvd remains open. Expect delays in and around the area for the next 4-5 hours as officers investigate the collision.
This remains a very active investigation and no further details are being released at this time. Dependent upon the investigation and notifications, we hope to provide an update by mid-Sunday morning.
