Phelan deputies arrest a couple for being in possession of multiple firearms 
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: Thursday, May 11, 2017 – 3:34 pm
INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of Firearm / Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon / Burglary
SUSPECT(S): Terence Michael Powers, 35, of Crestline
Qurina Suzanne Bowers, 42, of Phelan
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, May 11, 2017, at approximately 3:34 pm, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the community in Phelan. The driver of the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed. Deputies located the vehicle unoccupied parked in front of a residence in the 11100 block of Nevada Road in Phelan. Deputies were concerned for the residents of the community, and approached the residence. Deputies located Terence Powers and Qurina Bowers hiding in a residence. The homeowners did not know the suspects and they entered the residence without permission. Deputies recovered stolen and illegal firearms in their vehicle.
Terence Powers and Qurina Bowers were arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon, and Burglary. Powers is being without bail and Bowers is being held in lieu of $125,000 bail.
