Pomona Police Major Crimes Task Force Conducts Joint Prostitution Operation; Nets 9 Arrests
On 05/11/17, shortly after 4:00 PM, the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force, assisted by The Los Angeles County Probation Department conducted an undercover operation targeting human trafficking and prostitution along the Holt Avenue corridor in the City of Pomona. The “Holt Corridor” is frequently the target of illegal activities such as human trafficking, pimping, prostitution, and solicitation for prostitution.
Uniformed and undercover officers from the Pomona Police Department and the LA County Probation Department took part in the operation which resulted in the arrest of 9 subjects on suspicion of engaging in prostitution- 647(b) PC or loitering with the intent to commit prostitution- 653.22 PC. Those arrested were identified as;
- Guadalupe Mendoza-Zavala, 26, of Pomona
- Cesar Islas-Lazcano, 31, of Pomona
- Juan Razo, 30, of Montclair
- Danny Mosqueda, 57, of Pomona
- Marvin Betancoperez, 27, of Montclair
- Jose Zuniga, 40, of Ontario
- Braulio Urbina-Guzman, 31, of Ontario
- Hazem Shekfa, 20, of Upland
- Myles Barreras, 25, of Pomona
