Traffic Headache on Indiana Toll Road at the 85 Mile Marker Eastbound

Traffic Headache on Indiana Toll Road at the 85 Mile Marker Eastbound

(Granger, IN)  At approximately 7:57 AM Indiana State Police were dispatched to a semi in the south ditch on the Indiana Toll Road at the 85 mile marker eastbound.  This area of the Toll Road is currently being repaved.  When Troopers arrived they found a white semi partially rolled onto the right side in the south ditch.  The semi drove off the right side of the road damaging approximately 100 feet of guard rail.  When the semi went into the ditch it struck a concrete culvert causing the right diesel tank to rupture.  The diesel spilled into a small creek.  The driver was not injured in the crash and no other vehicles were involved.  No construction workers were involved in this crash as well.

This area of the Toll Road is actively under construction and repaving at this time.  To keep traffic flowing, the milling is being stopped for scene clean up.  Traffic is being diverted into the closed lane and no road closures are expected at this time.
