Reference: On Duty Officer Involved Death
On 5/10/17 at 0232 hours a nearby resident reported a single vehicle accident involving a Police Car at Henry St. and Ross Rd. Emergency Personnel arrived on scene and began treating the officer who was severely injured. The officer was transported to Hackley Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Michigan State Police were called in to investigate the accident and at this time it is undetermined how the crash occurred.
The officer was a 10 year veteran of the Norton Shores Police Department and leaves behind a wife and 2 children. The name of the officer will be released at a press conference later today.
