Sheriff's Detectives arrest Windsor man in armed robbery case.

Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Windsor man yesterday for an armed robbery at a Larkfield convenience store. At about 12:30 AM yesterday, deputies received a call of an armed robbery at the Fast and Easy store in the 5300 block of Old Redwood Hwy. The clerk called 911 and stated a man came into his store, pointed a handgun at him and took cash from the register.

The suspect fled from the store before deputies arrived but during the course of the subsequent investigation deputies reviewed the store surveillance video. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a white t-shirt around his face, a black sweatshirt, a blue glove on his right hand and a grey glove on his left. He appeared to be a Hispanic male, about 21-28 years old with a distinctive scar on his head. The suspect appeared to be holding a chrome colored revolver.

Detectives were called in to investigate the incident. From the video depicting the distinctive scar, they were able to positively identify the suspect as 21-year-old Peter Miranda from Windsor. Detectives secured a $100,000 arrest warrant and a search warrant of Miranda’s home and vehicle.

Detectives conducting surveillance at his home saw Miranda leave in his vehicle, a grey Nissan Altima at about 6:00 PM. A traffic stop was made on Miranda and he was quickly taken into custody without incident. In his car, detectives located a replica firearm, cash and clothing that matched what he was wearing at the time of the robbery.

Miranda was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in custody on $100,000 bail.
