Two vehicle accident in 2200 block of Dumas sends two to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On 5-7-17, at about 3:15 PM, officers were sent to the area of 24th and Dumas on traffic accident.  Officers found that the accident involved two vehicles, a white 2014 Chevrolet and a black 2008 Jeep Cherokee.  Both vehicles were northbound on Dumas when the driver of the Chevrolet tried to switch lanes and exit at 24th Avenue.  The right front of the Chevrolet hit the back left wheel area of the Jeep.  The Jeep's driver lost control and it ran into the center median and then rolled. Initial information is that the driver of the Jeep, a 28 year old female, and an infant (UPDATED-child is a male age 4) were ejected.  Both have been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  The Chevrolet's driver, a 20 year old male, and his 18 year old female passenger, were not injured.  This incident is still under investigation by the APD Traffic investigations unit.
