Pomona Police Major Crimes Task Force Serves Search Warrant; Recovers 6 Firearms, 1 Suspect Arrested 
On May 5, 2017 members of the Pomona Police Departments Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) served a search warrant at 2537 Cathy Ave, in the City of Pomona. During the service of the warrant, Officers located 6 firearms in the residence in addition to over 500 live ammunition rounds (various calibers) and over 5 pounds of marijuana. 2 of the firearms recovered were identified as high-powered assault rifles. Joseph Michael Cesena, a 39 year old Pomona resident, was arrested on suspicion of ex-felon in possession of a firearm (29800 (A)( 1)PC) and booked into the Pomona City Jail.
It is the continued mission of the Major Crimes Task Force to seek out and apprehend individuals involved in gang and violent related criminal activity. The MCTF is dedicated to the safety of our citizens through the reduction of gang violence throughout our community by proactive and preventative enforcement.
