Flood Warning update. Travel Advisory issued. North Stone Road closed.

A travel advisory has been issued due to many county roads having standing water in the roadway. North Stone Road between Stonecrest Mobile Home Park and Monroe Pike is closed due to flooding and south Stone Road is being monitored closely between the mobile home entrance and 38th street.


Runoff from prior heavier rain showers earlier today combined with some additional rain will result in continued rises on area rivers
into the weekend. The Flood Warning continues for the Mississinewa River near Marion until Sunday afternoon.

* At 6 AM Friday the stage was 12.6 feet and rising.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* Forecast...The river will rise to a crest near 13.1 feet around 8
PM Friday May 5 and fall below flood stage around 3 PM Saturday
May 6.

* At 13.0 feet...Boots Street begins to flood as water backs up
Massey Creek.

* This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.2 feet which occurred
on Jun 27 2015.

Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood waters.
