Battle of the Badges Charity Basketball Game to benefit Special Olympics of Northern California

The Fremont Police and Fremont Fire Departments will face off at the Battle of the Badges charity basketball game, to benefit Special Olympics Northern California on May 20, 2017, at Washington High School. The doors open and the event will begin at 5:00 pm, with an intra-mural pregame basketball competition between City of Fremont employees from Public Works, Community Services and Community Development. Tip-off for the main event between Fremont Police and Fremont Fire will take place at 6:00 pm. 

In addition to the exciting basketball games, the event will feature halftime entertainment, fabulous raffle prizes, a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, a chili cook-off tasting competition, photo opportunities with police and fire staff and a variety of food, snacks, and beverages will available for sale.

Tickets:
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 per person (children under 5 are free), beginning Wednesday, May 3, at the following locations:

  • Fremont Police Department (2000 Stevenson Blvd.), Monday - Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
  • Fremont Fire Admin. (3300 Capitol Ave, Bldg. A), Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Fremont Senior Center (40086 Paseo Padre Pkwy), Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.
  • Schaa’s Lawnmower Sales & Service (41144 Roberts Ave), Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Cash or checks (made out to Special Olympics of Northern California) will be accepted.  

Tickets will also be available at the door beginning at 5:00 pm.

Sponsors of Battle of the Badges 2017 charity event, include Fremont Firefighters Local 1689, the Fremont Police Officer’s Association, Fremont Unified School District, Washington High School and Fry’s Electronics. All proceeds from the event will be given directly to Special Olympics Northern California to support the more than 300 athletes in the Tri-City area. Special Olympics programs help promote dignity, acceptance, and give people with intellectual disabilities a chance to fulfill their human potential. This special fundraiser was originally founded by the Leadership Fremont Class of 2007, an annual program of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
