Madison Co Weather Update from tonight's storm

EMA spotters activated tonight after citizen and law enforcement reports of a funnel cloud traveling eastbound along 500N and 600N from the Hamilton Co line to Frankton.  Frankton has some power outages reported with power lines down and some tree limbs blocking a couple roads around the Frankton area.  EMA is currently blocking traffic on 500W near 850N due to a tree limb across the road.

EMA had 12 volunteers who are trained spotters tracking the storm providing live updates to our Emergency Operations Center.   This was another storm system which produced heavy rain, quarter size hail and winds between 40-55 MPH.

This storm is another example, when severe weather is in the forecast, citizens should be alert and have multiple means to receive weather warnings from the National Weather Service and EMA.
