#010 Warrant Arrest
Officer Lobue stopped a group at the Niles Community Park in the 37600 block of 3rd St. During the contact, a 63 year old adult male was arrested for a misdemeanor drug possession warrant.
 
#016 Warrant Service and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrest
Officer Taylor served a warrant at a motel in the 34000 block of Fremont Blvd, and arrested a 45year old adult male for the warrant as well as for an on-view charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
#021 Driving on a Suspended License
Officer Blanchet stopped a vehicle at Thornton and Coronado, and arrested a 34 year old adult female for driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation violation.
 
#022 Warrant Arrest
Officer Blanchet arrested a 27 year old adult male for an assault with a deadly weapon warrant, in the 4200 block of Nerissa Ci.
 
#003, 008 Mental Health Evaluation
Officers responded Washington Hospital to assist with a woman who jumped into the front passenger seat in a parked ambulance and refused to get out. Officer Rose arrested the woman for a Penal Code violation.  While in the back seat of the patrol car, she kicked out the back window and a vandalism charge was added. As her behavior progressively worsened, she ended up being placed on a hold for mental health evaluation.
 
#004 Commercial Burglary
CSO Romero investigated a commercial burglary in the 40900 block of Fremont Blvd. The front door glass had been broken out in a prior burglary, and the suspect broke out the plywood that was currently covering the door. The loss includes $8K in iPhones, iPhone accessories, and one iPad.
 
#013 Mental Health Evaluation
Officers responded to the 39200 block of Logan Dr. regarding a man who was yelling at and making gestures towards passing motorists. Officer Kerner placed the man on a hold for mental health evaluation.
 
#002 DUI Arrest
Officer Ferrara stopped an adult male near Balboa and San Pedro.  He was found to be intoxicated and arrested for DUI.
 
#003 DUI Arrest
Officers Higgins and Oliveira were working a DUI saturation this evening and stopped a female driver near Niles and D St.  She was intoxicated and arrested for DUI.

#009 Possession of Burglary Tools and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrest
Officer R. Smith checked on an occupied vehicle behind a business at Ardenwood Plaza.  Inside were two Union City residents, one on probation for auto theft.  A search of the vehicle yielded burglary tools and narcotic paraphernalia.  Arrested via citation was 34 year old male, Union City resident.
 
#013 Possession of Prohibited Ammunition
Officer D. Han was conducting patrol checks for reckless drivers in the area of Campus Ct. and Campus Drive.  He came upon vehicle occupied by 37 year old adult male of Union City.  Further investigation revealed the male was in possession of prohibited ammunition and was arrested for same.
 
#023 Warrant Service and Providing a False Name to Officers
Officer Madsen conducted a car stop for VC violations and learned the driver provided him with a false first name when a felony warrant for robbery is discovered during his investigation. The male assured Officer Madsen that he was making a huge mistake and then got downright belligerent with the officers. The 24 year old adult male was booked at FPD Jail on his felony warrant and providing a false name to officers.
 
#027 Warrant Arrest
Officer Higgins stopped a bicyclist at Fremont/Mattos who was found to have a felony larceny warrant. The 44 year old adult male was booked on UCPD’s warrant at the FPD Jail.
 
#001 Failure to Yield
Officer Oliveira attempted a vehicle stop on a vehicle near Paseo Padre and Mission view. The vehicle failed to yield and took off at a high rate of speed. Officer Oliveira did not pursue the vehicle.
 
#004 DUI Arrest
Officer Gregory arrested an adult male for DUI following a vehicle stop near Washington Blvd and Luzon.
 
#030 Mail Theft
Officer Gregory investigated mail theft from an address on San Moreno Ct.  The suspect left behind a box of other stolen mail from the area. A possible suspect vehicle was described as a white Ford Ranger pickup truck. Suspect described as a white male in his 30’s.
 
 
#007 Tampering with a Vehicle
Officers were dispatched to the Colonial Gardens Apartments after caller reports someone attempted to steal his vehicle. Officer Soper confirms the vehicle was tampered with (lug nuts removed). The suspect was described as white male adult, 20-25 years old, brown curly hair, dark jacket and jeans.  He was last seen riding a mountain bike. 
 
#008 Stolen Vehicle
Officers responded to an address on Camellia Dr. to investigate a stolen white Cadillac Escalade (license # 6Z62762). The reporting party believes a similar black SUV was seen and possibly involved. Union City Police attempt to catch up to a light colored Escalade near I880 and Alvarado. The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle jumps the median and evades officers last seen traveling northbound on I880. Officer O’Neal investigated the incident.
 
#009 Hit and Run DUI Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the area of Stevenson/Omar regarding a vehicle accident where one of the vehicles involved left the scene. Officer Gregory locates the suspect vehicle after it decided to drive back near the area of the crash. The suspect vehicle was heavily damaged and the air bag was deployed. The male driver was determined to be intoxicated.  He was arrested for DUI and Hit and Run.

#010 Violation of a Court Order
Officer Vecurevich arrested a 61 year old adult male for violation of a court order after he refused to leave the parking lot of a local hospital.
 
#029 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
A reporting party calls stating she sees a male hitting a female with a golf club on Niles Blvd near G St. Officers arrive and initially cannot find either the alleged suspect or the alleged victim, as they both ran off. A short time later Officer Manrique spots a male who admits his involvement. The female half of this equation was not located. Case investigated and followed-up by Officer Catassi.
 
#031 Robbery
A patron of Ross (HUB location) had her cell phone taken from her by force while inside the store.  The suspect was gone by the time officers arrived. The manager of Ross would not allow officers to take a copy of the stores surveillance camera footage for evidence, that clearly showed the suspect running away with the phone in hand. We were finally able to take a still photograph of the footage so we could follow up on this case.  The female suspect was described as white female adult, 5’09”, 180 lbs, wearing white shorts. Officer Catassi was later recovered the loss around the corner from the store.
 
#005VC Suspended License
Officer Montojo cited an adult male for driving on a suspended license following a vehicle stop at Stevenson and Encyclopedia.
 
#038 Possession of Illegal Drugs
Officer Higgins arrested an adult male for being in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and for being under the influence of a controlled substance following a pedestrian stop in the area of Fremont/Thornton.
 
#002 Suspended License
Officer Knudson cited an adult male for driving on a suspended license following a vehicle stop in the area of Central and Blacow.
 
#003 DUI Arrest
Officer Davis arrested and adult male for DUI following a vehicle stop in the area of Decoto/Fremont.
 
#170423034 Stolen Vehicle
Officer Wong investigated a stolen vehicle from 24 Hour Fitness on Auto Mall Pkwy. Taken was a green, 1997 Honda Civic, 4-door, License #7HDZ220.
 
#003/006 Commercial Burglary
Two nights in a row a business on Industrial reported a verified alarm. Each incident reported hearing voice and drawers being opened. No loss was determined but the responsible confirmed entry was made and things moved around. Officer Soper is investigating both incidents. No signs of forced entry and no suspects at this time.

#008 Verified Alarm  
Officers working in the south end responded to a verified Sonitrol Alarm at 420 Whitney Place.  An alarm company called in a verified alarm, and said they had video of an unauthorized male inside the building.  Arriving units quickly established a perimeter and located an unsecured door.  While searching the building officers heard noises leading them to believe a suspect was still inside.  The construction of this building denied the officers access to the entire building and so the Fire Department was utilized to check the roof and obtain a master key.  Six officers and one canine were tied up for almost two hours dealing with this investigation.  In the end, the male seen on video had apparently fled prior to our arrival and no suspect(s) were located.
 
#039 Outside Assist- Stolen Vehicle Recovery
CSO Escamilla assisted Santa Clara Auto Task force by recovering a stolen vehicle located near Mission Blvd and Warm Springs Blvd.
 
#005 Suspicious Circumstances
Female calls claiming to be an Uber driver and having problems with a male customer. The line was disconnected and we no longer had contact with caller. Officers, supervisors and dispatch exhaust a few hours researching associates, family, and friends in an effort to locate the possible victim with negative results. Eventually Officer Davis makes contact with the subscriber of the cell phone who claims to be fine, out of town and not in any need of the police. During the investigation Uber was contacted and could not locate an account with the cell phone number provided.  Case documented by Officer Davis.
