HCSO Investigating Death in Custody.

(Harris County, TX) Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators with the Office of Inspector General and Homicide unit are examining the death of a 31-year-old man who was brought to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Processing Center by private bail recovery agents for an open family assault warrant and a capias child support warrant from Harris County Precinct 1 Constables.
On, Tuesday, April 25, 2017, the male was received into processing at around 2p.m.
Upon arrival the male presented no signs of a medical distress or condition. Shortly after having his photo and fingerprints taken, he appeared to have a seizure.
Two medical nurses responded along with a gurney to the male at 2:22 p.m. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was dispatched to the facility.
Houston Fire Department responded at 2:28 p.m. and paramedics began CPR on arrival and transported the male to St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 3:25 p.m.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Science will determine cause of death.
