Advisory

Expect traffic delays on US27 just south of Southpointe Drive

According to ODOT, the bridge on US27 just south of Southpointe Drive will be replaced this summer. Since the bridge width is so narrow, only one lane of traffic can kept open as the bridge is replaced. Northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained, but traffic across the bridge will be maintained with a temporary traffic signal, alternating northbound and southbound traffic.

The temporary traffic signal is expected to be implemented today, 4/26. Please expect delays as the traffic pattern is implemented and motorists become accustomed to the temporary traffic signal.

Bridge work will begin on Monday, May 1st, and progress through early August. Once the bridge is re-opened to two lanes, the pavement patching and resurfacing of US27 from Stillwell-Beckett to the bridge will be performed. One lane will be maintained with flaggers during the resurfacing, with no restrictions in place when no work is being performed. Work should wrap up in October.

Miami University has plans in place to address traffic flow during upcoming events where they anticipate a large attendance.
