DETAILS: Ptl. Robles investigated a Theft of Identity where the following was reported:  the victim was contacted by Citi Bank regarding a suspicious charge totaling $2,200.00 that was made using her credit card account to Betfaircasino.com.  The account was a joint account with the victim’s husband.  The victim still had her credit card in her possession at the time she was notified of the fraudulent charge.

DETAILS: Sgt. Lee investigated a Theft of Identity incident where the victim reported the following:  upon checking his Chase financial accounts he noticed that unknown actor(s) had opened an online credit card on 3/17/2017.  He had the account closed and no fraudulent activity had been noted.

DETAILS: Ptl. VanNess investigated a Harassment incident where the following was reported:  a suspect has continued to contact him, his family, and employees threatening them with physical harm if the suspect is not given money.  The suspect left the USA and returned to India prior to 11/16/2016.  On 11/16/2016, the victim’s employees in India reported the suspect’s continuing harassment to the local police.  The local police in India issued a warrant for the suspect’s arrest and when the suspect found out he fled to Singapore.  Since then, the suspect has continued to contact the victim, his family, and his employees threatening them with physical harm if not given money.  On 3/15/2017, the suspect advised the victim via telephone that he was going to defame the victim’s company and divulge confidential information on 3/29/2017.  The victim’s service provider indicated the phone call originated in Philadelphia, PA.

DETAILS: Ptl. Erkoboni was dispatched to WalMart on a Shoplifting where the suspect had left the store and appeared to be the same individual involved in a shoplifting reported on 3/25/2017.  Ptl. Erkoboni located the subject, identified as Malcom J. Green, sitting on a bench at the bus stop behind Sam’s Club on Nassau Park Boulevard.  Further investigation revealed that Green had passed all points of sale carrying two white electronic boxes thru the Garden Center exit.  Green was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at the West Windsor Township Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Using the Online Reporting System, the victim reported the following:  Capital One alerted him to suspicious online purchases made using his credit card.  In the early morning hours of 3/31/2017, there were 280 fraudulent charges (mostly $10.00 and $25.00) on his card from Google Play totaling $3,995.00.  The card was promptly closed.

DETAILS: Using the Online Reporting System, the victim reported the following:  on 4/1/2017 she received a notice from Chase Bank that she had been declined for an Amazon Prime credit card because she already had such an account.  This alarmed her because she never requested a second or new card.  Upon speaking with a Chase representative, it was confirmed that unknown actor(s) used the victim’s name, address, date of birth and social security number.

Erkoboni investigated a Theft of Identity incident where the following occurred:  on 3/30/2017, the victim received a letter from the IRS notifying her that a suspected fraudulent 2016 tax return had been filed using her name and social security number.  She had not filed a tax return.  She then received a second letter from the IRS confirming that a fraudulent return had been filed.
