Update: HCSO Homicide Investigators have released the mug shot photos of Xavier Cox and Javalon Robinson , both defendants in an Officer Involved Shooting.

(Harris County, TX) On Monday, April 24, 2017, members of a Joint Robbery Task Force consisting of personnel from The Houston Police Department , Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) received information on a vehicle that had been used in aggravated robberies in the north west area of Harris County.

The vehicle was located and the four suspects were followed to a restaurant in the 6900 block of N Highway 6 at around 9:40p.m.

The vehicle pulled to the back of the restaurant, and three male suspects were seen running towards the restaurant wearing dark hoodies and bandannas.

Two of the males were armed with handguns and entered the store demanding the money from the cash drawers. The employees gave the money to the suspects and they fled the business.

Task Force members of the Houston Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety had converged on the front of the restaurant. As the suspects were attempting to flee, they ordered them to drop their weapons and surrender.

The suspects fired their handguns at the officers, who returned fire striking all three suspects.

Emergency Medical services (EMS) transported all three to area hospitals.

The suspects are identified as 17-year-old Xavier Cox who was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital in non-life threating condition.

18-year-old Javalon Robinson was arrested in the getaway vehicle and was not injured.

A 16-year-old male juvenile was pronounced deceased at a North Cypress Medical Center and a 15-year-old male juvenile was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital Downtown in critical but stable condition.

Cox and Robinson are now charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Theses suspects were wanted for at least 10 aggravated robberies that investigators are working in the North West 1960 area.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide unit and the Harris County District Attorney’s office are investigating the officer involved shooting in this incident.
