OSBI Arrests Two in Seminole Co. Murder

OSBI special agents and investigators with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department have arrested two people for murder in the first degree and kidnapping. April 17, 2017, Matthew Onesimo Armstrong (d.o.b. 8/20/1989) and Nicholas Earl Faulkner (d.o.b. 1/25/1987) tied a woman to a tree in a wooded area near 13251 NS 363 Road in Seminole County. The men believed the woman had stolen drugs and money from Armstrong and hidden them in the woods. When Nichole Owl could not tell Armstrong where she hid the stolen items, he shot her several times, killing her. Armstrong, Faulkner, and a third individual buried Owl near where she was shot. That third individual reported the crime to investigators the next day. April 19, OSBI crime scene agents and archeologists with the medical examiner’s office and the University of Oklahoma excavated Owl’s body. OSBI agents arrested Armstrong and Faulkner at Armstrong’s home -- 13251 NS 636 Road in Wewoka. Armstrong’s father, Jimmy Armstrong, was also arrested at his home – 13253 NS 362 Road in Wewoka – for felon in possession of a firearm. Matthew Armstrong borrowed the gun from his father he used to kill Owl.
The OSBI, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, District 22 Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police Department assisted with the search warrants, arrest of the suspects, and search for the gravesite. Mug shots of the two men are attached to this release. Armstrong is the more heavy set of the two.
