Fatal Traffic Collision on Santa Teresa

On April 23rd, at 7:15 pm, Morgan Hill Officers responded to the area of Santa Teresa and Native Dancer Dr. on multiple reports of a major injury collision. Upon arrival, officers located the two involved vehicles. A Toyota Camry was in the roadway with significant front end damage, the female driver exited the Camry and was found on the east edge of Santa Teresa. The driver was later transported to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.

A Chrysler Sebring was located on the west shoulder of Santa Teresa with major damage to the front and passenger side. The Chrysler was occupied by two male subjects. The occupants appeared to have substantial injuries and were unresponsive. Officers attempted to rescue the driver but the vehicle was on fire and the damage was too extensive. The Morgan Hill Fire Department arrived at the scene and initiated a rescue of the occupants of the Chrysler. Despite Morgan Hill Fire and Police efforts both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Both occupants of the Chrysler were extricated from the vehicle and their identities are being withheld pending notification to their families. The Morgan Hill Police Traffic Unit responded to the collision and are investigating the incident. Prior to the accident, the Chrysler was observed traveling northbound on Santa Teresa at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Chrysler lost control of the vehicle in the area of Sunshine St. and Native Dancer Dr. the vehicle drifted sideways into on-coming traffic and struck the Camry.
