Press Release: Subject arrested for multiple offenses following motor vehicle stop

ACCUSED: Shawn Moore, Age 37, Neptune, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On April 14, 2017 Ptl Dave Talty was working an extra duty assignment in search of distracted drivers. This agency was awarded a grant and participates in this campaign every year which is designed to keep distracted drivers off the road. At approximately 11 am Ptl Talty observed a vehicle commit a motor vehicle violation while traveling south on Norwood Ave.
Ptl Talty performed a motor vehicle stop in the area of Grand and Sunset in the City of Asbury Park. Moore was a passenger in the motor vehicle and provided Ptl Talty with a fake name. Once Moore’s identity was revealed he was found to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. Moore was subsequently charged with two counts of hindering, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, and possession of controlled dangerous substances. Following bail reform guidelines Moore was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending his first appearance. The driver was released with a motor vehicle summons.
