On Friday April 21, 2017 at approximately 3:39pm deputies responded to Golfside near Grandview Drive for a one-vehicle serious injury crash. Deputies determined the vehicle was northbound on Golfside when it crossed the center line and into the left (southbound) lane. The vehicle swerved back into the northbound lane, to avoid an unidentified southbound vehicle, and over-corrected to the right, lost control, and ran off the roadway and struck a tree (westside of Golfside). There was not contact between the two (2) vehicles. The unidentified southbound vehicle did not stop and was last seen southbound on Golfside.

The driver and front seat passenger were both transported to the University Of Michigan Hospital for treatment. The status of both occupants are undetermined at this time.

The incident is under investigation by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services unit and they are asking for assistance in speaking with the driver of the unidentified southbound vehicle. The only description available is that the vehicle is a grey or silver mini-van. It should be noted the unidentified southbound vehicle was not at fault in the crash.
