PRESS RELEASE: Deal Officers Involved in Narcan Save

ACCUSED: Christian Wiedemeyer, Age 29 Belford, NJ
VICTIM: Male Age 30, Atlantic Highlands, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On April 20, 2017 at approximately 5:06pm Deal Police received a 911 call reporting CPR in progress with a possible overdose on Monmouth Terrace in the Borough of Deal. Sgt Ammaturo, Ptl Ammaturo and Detective Liptak quickly arrived on scene and began life saving measures. Deal First Aid members David Belhassen and Ike Massrey along with Deal Fireman William Cittadino arrived on scene a short time later.
Detective Liptak then assisted Deal First Aid members in deploying Narcan on the victim while CPR was in progress. The victim was then transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where first aid members reported the victim had become alert and conscious.
During the follow up investigation conducted by the officers involved, Christian Wiedemeyer was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence. Wiedemeyer was transported to Deal Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on a criminal summons pending a court date.
