ISP Accepting Applications for Latent Print Forensic Scientist

The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for a Latent Print Forensic Scientist position at the Fort Wayne Regional Laboratory.

This is an entry level position involving an in-house training program in forensic identification analysis, which includes latent prints Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), footwear, tire impressions and physical comparison.  The ability to qualify to testify in court as an expert in the area of latent print analysis is also required.  Those interested should review the job description for a complete list of responsibilities, duties, essential functions and job requirements.

Applicants must be possess a Baccalaureate degree with science courses and must also possess a basic knowledge of the theory and practical application of scientific instrumentation and analytical techniques.   Applicants must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with scientific and non-scientific personnel.  Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle as well as have the ability to differentiate color as evidenced by medical certification.  Some travel may be required.  An employment toxicology screen will be required.

Successful candidates will be required to sign a three (3) year employment agreement.
